Crushie AI review: gems, Premium, memory and privacy

What is Crushie AI?

Crushie AI is a romance chat app where you play opposite AI love interests in ongoing stories, marketed on Google Play as a way to “create your ideal AI boyfriend” and aimed at women. You can pick a premade character and a “Scene” to start from, or build your own by setting his personality, background and memories.

The public library leans on romance-novel types: billionaire heirs, CEOs, athletes and a fox-spirit character, all listed as adults, with tags like Protective, Caring and Possessive. The app runs on iPhone and Android, and a web version at crushie.ai lets you browse and start chats in a browser.

SoulZ AI Inc. runs it from a Las Vegas, Nevada address, and the iPhone app launched on February 11, 2025. Crushie has grown fast for a small brand. Decrypt, citing Appfigures, put its first-half 2026 consumer spending at $8.8 million before store fees, fourth among romantic companion apps. A 36Kr analysis reported about 345,000 monthly active users in August 2026, citing an unnamed data provider.

How much does Crushie AI cost?

Crushie Premium costs $29.99 and a Gem Pass $9.99 on the US App Store, and gems are sold in packs from $2.49. Crushie has no price page, so these are the US App Store in-app purchase prices, read October 19, 2026:

Couldn’t confirm the billing period on an official page: the store list shows no durations, and the EULA only says subscriptions renew at the end of each period. 36Kr calls Premium a $29.99 monthly plan, and App Store reviewers from mid-2026 describe “$30 a month” for about 4,000 gems. Couldn’t confirm what the Gem Pass includes. Android prices differ, with Google Play listing items from $0.99 to $109.99.

How do gems work on Crushie AI?

Gems pay for the AI’s replies, so every message in a story draws down your balance. Crushie publishes no rate card, but App Store reviewers cite 5 to 15 gems a reply, and pictures a character sends in chat cost more.

Premium doesn’t remove the meter. The most common complaint in mid-2026 App Store reviews is that Premium’s monthly gems run out and more must be bought, and some reviewers report bonus gems that never arrived. 36Kr also noted that the chat screen doesn’t show your balance or warn you before gems run out.

Is Crushie AI free?

Crushie AI is free to download, but ongoing chat isn’t. Reviewers say new accounts start with about 10 gems, daily login rewards run on a seven-day cycle, and one rewarded ad a day adds a few more. That covers roughly one to three replies a day, so the free version works as a sampler. Japanese review site AI PICKS lists no real free tier.

How good is Crushie AI’s memory?

Crushie says its characters learn from your conversations and remember what matters to you, but it publishes no technical detail, and user reports are mixed. Early 2025 App Store reviews praise recall of small details from days before. By mid-2026, several reviewers say the characters forget things within a few messages, especially after editing a suggested reply. Google Play reviewers mention a “Notes for me” panel and per-chat diaries that help track the story, though one finds the notes cluttered.

What features does Crushie AI have?

Crushie is a text-first story app with custom characters, premade scenes and occasional pictures. What the official pages and reports describe:

• Character creation: personality, background and starting memories. AI PICKS says the personality field takes up to 2,000 characters, and 36Kr says you can set an MBTI type.
• Story format: actions, narration and dialogue are styled differently, with a panel showing his affection level, the scene and his mood, per 36Kr.
• Looks: anime and realistic styles, per AI PICKS.
• Pictures: characters can send images in chat for extra gems; reviewers report frequent failures.
• Voice: none found. Reviewers have asked for voice messages since 2025.
• Languages: the iPhone app lists English and 11 others.

What do users and published reviews say about Crushie AI?

Users like the stories and dislike the gem meter. The US App Store shows 4.8 out of 5 from 3,339 ratings, and Google Play shows 4.1 from about 4,800 reviews, both read October 19, 2026. MWM, which aggregates review text, scores 1,315 reviews at 3.3 out of 5.

What comes up most:

• Storytelling: reviewers call it addictive and compare it to an interactive romance novel (App Store, MWM summary).
• Cost: many 3-star reviews love the app but say a $29.99 plan should be unlimited (App Store, Google Play).
• Memory: recall is praised in older reviews and criticized in newer ones (App Store).
• Repetition: some say long chats turn repetitive (App Store, MWM summary).
• Support: several reviewers report restricted accounts or missing gems and no reply from support (App Store).

AI PICKS, a Japanese review site, ranks it highly for memory of preferences and detailed character setup but says regular chat needs paid gems. 36Kr’s analysis credits its clear focus on romance for women and notes the highest revenue per active user among the five apps it compared.

One caution on social media posts: an April 2026 Crushie event paid users in gems for public posts about the app and barred posts that criticize it.

Is Crushie AI safe?

Crushie AI is run by a named US company and requires users to be 18 or older, but its privacy disclosures are thin and contradict each other. What its pages say:

• Age: the terms and EULA set a minimum of 18, and the EULA says suspected minors are suspended unless they prove their age. No ID or face check is described. Apple rates it 18+ and Google Play Mature 17+.
• Content: the terms publish no content rules beyond banning harmful or illegal content. App Store reviewers in 2026 describe few filters for adult romance.
• Training: the privacy policy says your conversations with the AI may be used to train its algorithm, with no opt-out described.
• Collection: email, Google account details, age, gender, device and advertising IDs, chat records and uploaded images.
• Conflicting labels: Google Play’s data safety section says the app collects no data, while the privacy policy and Apple’s label list several types, including identifiers used for tracking.
• Encryption: the store listings call chats “completely private and secure”, but the privacy policy doesn’t mention encryption.
• Deletion: the terms describe deleting your account in the app (My Profile, Settings, Account, Delete), which erases characters, chat logs and memories; the privacy policy says to email a request.

Two companies appear behind the app: SoulZ AI Inc. on the App Store and in the terms, and Qianfan Hong Kong Limited on Google Play. No breach, lawsuit or regulator action naming either turned up as of October 19, 2026, and neither was among the seven companies in the FTC’s September 2025 inquiry into companion chatbots. Similar names cause confusion, so install only the listings by those two developers, not Crush AI, CrushOn AI or third-party download sites.

How do you cancel Crushie AI?

You cancel Premium in the app store you paid through, and access continues to the end of the current period. Crushie’s EULA says it doesn’t refund store purchases itself.

1. Open Settings on iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions.
2. Select Crushie.
3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm before the renewal date.
4. Request any refund from Apple or Google under their own policies.

Deleting the app doesn’t cancel the subscription.
