What is Darlink AI?

Darlink AI is an adults-only companion site where you design a character’s appearance and personality, chat with it, and generate images and short videos of it. It is run by FameLink SA, an active Swiss company with an address in Montsevelier, in the canton of Jura, according to its terms and the Swiss commercial register. The site’s own data gives a founding date of February 2024.

Darlink works only in a web browser. Its Explore library holds hundreds of thousands of mostly user-made characters in realistic and anime styles, according to two published reviews.

How much does Darlink AI cost?

Darlink AI’s Essential plan costs $12.99 a month, and longer billing lowers the monthly rate. Official prices, read October 18, 2026:

The yearly toggle carries a “save 44%” badge, but the real saving against monthly billing is about 23% on Essential, 32% on Advanced and 34% on Ultimate. Crypto is accepted only for yearly plans, which then don’t auto-renew.

What do Darlink AI’s coins buy?

Darlink AI charges 2 coins for an image and 20 coins for a video on every plan. So Essential’s 100 monthly coins buy about 50 images or 5 videos. Extra packs, from the official token store:

At those rates an image costs 16 to 20 cents and a video $1.60 to $2.00. Two reviewers report videos that failed after coins were spent, and the official pages don’t say whether failed generations are refunded in coins.

Is Darlink AI free?

Barely. Darlink’s homepage calls it a free AI girlfriend generator, but no official page lists free limits, and reviewers describe a preview of a few messages with no adult content, memory or media. There is no free trial of a paid plan.

How does Darlink AI’s memory work?

Darlink ties memory to the plan. Its pricing FAQ describes three levels:

No context size or retention period is published. AI Companion Guides reports Living memory recalling details from days earlier, while AI Girlfriend Review found Essential forgot emotional details within about three days.

What do published reviews say about Darlink AI?

Reviewers rate Darlink well for roleplay and customization and poorly for media reliability. AI Girlfriend Review, after four weeks on three plans, calls Advanced on yearly billing the sensible choice. AI Companion Guides praises cheap images and Living memory. StartupHub.ai credits Darlink for publishing coin costs up front.

The recurring criticisms:

• Videos fail, stall or come out distorted (AI Companion Guides, AI Girlfriend Review).
• Voices sound flat, and there are no live calls (AI Girlfriend Review).
• The interface is rough and English-only (AI Companion Guides).
• Billing and canceling draw complaints (StartupHub.ai, Trustpilot).

Users are harsher than reviewers. Trustpilot showed 2.4 out of 5 from 12 reviews on October 18, 2026, mostly about canceling, renewals and media quality, and the company hadn’t replied to negative reviews.

Is Darlink AI safe?

Darlink AI is run by a registered Swiss company and says it doesn’t sell personal data, but its age check is self-declared and its privacy terms are broad. What its pages say:

• Age: 18 or older. Third-party reviews describe the check as an on-screen confirmation, not an ID or selfie check.
• Training: the privacy policy says conversation data, including anonymized chats, helps train its AI. No opt-out is described.
• Tracking: Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel set cookies for analytics and advertising, and a banner lets you decline.
• Encryption: data is encrypted in transit. No end-to-end encryption is claimed.
• Chargebacks: if you dispute a charge, Darlink says it may give your bank account and message records.
• Content license: you keep ownership, but grant Darlink a broad, permanent license to your content.

No data breach, regulator action or lawsuit naming Darlink AI or FameLink SA turned up as of October 18, 2026.

How do you cancel Darlink AI?

The safest route is to email support in writing, because Darlink’s refund policy says cancellation takes effect once support receives written notice. The steps, from its terms and refund policy:

1. Cancel in your account settings, where the terms say web subscribers can do it.
2. Email support@darlink.ai asking to cancel, and keep the reply (support aims to answer in about 72 hours).
3. Cancel before the renewal date. Access and that period’s coins last until the period ends.

Refunds are generally refused. The exceptions are verified fraud, platform or billing errors, and termination by Darlink without user fault. The terms say a request within 24 hours of purchase may be considered if the service was barely used.
